Information for parents

Information for parents

New friends, fun, adventure, and personal growth in a safe and caring environment will offer your child a positive experience that will last a lifetime.

Anokijig is accredited by the American Camp Association

This process requires member camps to comply with, and have an independent inspection, of over 300 safety, health facility, and program standards. Camp Anokijig has chosen to be a member of the American Camp Association to insure that we are providing the best and safest camping experience available today.

Shortly after registration, parents will receive an information booklet to help prepare for camp. Please look this over and feel free to contact our office with any questions or requests.

Health & Safety

Our goal is to look upon all we do as if through the eyes of a parent. Each individual camper's well being is our primary concern.
  • Camp Anokijig welcomes campers from all over the globe but does not offer interpreter or bilingual services.  For the safety of campers, each child is expected to be fluent in conversational English.
  • Our health supervisors are well equipped to provide care for most campers’ basic needs. However, if your child has unique challenges in regard to physical, mental, emotional, or social issues that might require more advanced or unique care beyond what most would consider “typical” please be sure to contact us to discuss our ability to provide appropriate care for you child’s needs.
  • All campers take a swim test to insure their safety on the waterfront.
  • We strongly encourage non-swimmers to participate in our swim lessons.
